ICE's North East office off to flying start! 04/03/2010

Marketing and social change specialists ICE have picked up a series of new contracts in the North East worth £200,000 following the opening of a new regional base in Northumberland in November.

Already this year, ICE has won work with a number of public sector clients across the region - reflecting the company’s growing national presence and reputation. The latest wins centre primarily around the company’s specialism in social change, educating communities and supporting positive behaviour change on a diverse range of public health issues.

The new campaigns wins include:

· NHS North of Tyne – Social marketing support around childhood obesity.

· NHS Hull – A social marketing project to reduce the numbers of pregnant women who smoke.

· Newcastle City Council – A web portal for people with learning disabilities.

· NHS Stockton-on-Tees – A social marketing project centred on alcohol and professionals.

· North Tyneside Council – Social marketing support around alcohol related behaviours.
· Middlesbrough Council - Changing people’s perceptions and awareness of the opportunities locally to lead healthier lives.

ICE’s North East Business Development Director, Neil Foster, says, “ICE is focused on developing innovative solutions that make a real and lasting difference to people’s quality of life and I’m delighted we’ve been chosen by these organisations to work in partnership with them at the heart of communities - to support and respond to local needs.

“The contracts come as a direct result of our determination to grow the business and build positive relationships across the region. I’m looking forward to building on this momentum and helping drive forward real and sustainable change over the coming months.”

ICE’s North East office at Wansbeck Business Park in Ashington is ICE’s fourth regional base, in addition to the company’s North West HQ (Wirral) and office in the South West (Bristol) and South East (London). The 50-strong ICE team has expertise spanning social and strategic marketing, research and engagement, coupled with a national reputation for creative excellence, graphic design, PR, events and digital media.

A partnership between the public and private sectors, The Wirral Investment Network (WiN), plays a key role in initiating and supporting a range of projects to bring increased economic prosperity, physical improvements, and social benefits to Wirral and its surrounding area. It aims to make a meaningful and lasting contribution to Wirral’s economic success and the quality of life for its people.
