CPL's Daniel Davies named Businessman of the Year 15/07/2010
Local entrepreneur and founder of CPL Training has been named Businessman of the Year at the annual Wirral Investment Network (WiN) awards.
Daniel accepted the top award from Mark Sutherbury of category sponsor, The Manufacturing Advisory Service, at the packed event held at a luxury outdoor marquee on the grounds of Birkenhead School in Wirral.
In presenting the award, the judges recognised Daniels bid to ‘grow the business with dedication and diversity’ and host Roger Philips commented:
“Daniel launched the business when he was 18 years old and his strong, driven, entrepreneurial leadership style has ensured that CPL Training has become a well recognised brand with an unparalleled reputation as professional, trusted and forward thinking, known nationally as a centre of excellence for training and support services.”
CPL Training was recently presented with the Judges Choice Award at the Liverpool Daily Post Business Awards and was thrilled to receive a second award at the WiN event. Daniel said: “This was a real honour for me. As a local guy, it’s fantastic to see both my own and the wider business achievements being recognised at a Wirral-based business event. There were two other very strong candidates nominated for this award which makes this accolade all the more rewarding.”
Daniel has also been shortlisted in the IoD’s Liverpool Director of the Year category, with the results set to be announced later this year.
A partnership between the public and private sectors, The Wirral Investment Network (WiN), plays a key role in initiating and supporting a range of projects to bring increased economic prosperity, physical improvements, and social benefits to Wirral and its surrounding area. It aims to make a meaningful and lasting contribution to Wirral’s economic success and the quality of life for its people.
